CastletownBere is situated on the picturesque Beara Peninsula in West Cork and offers a variety of activities from river & sea fishing to horse riding. Just outside the town is Berehaven Golf Club, a nine-hole course, with a magnificent view of the Harbour. The Peninsula is famous for its walks, a beautiful white beach at Allihies and the ruins of Puxley's Castle at Dunboy. The Beara Peninsula, fast becoming one of the most popular tourist spots, is situated on the south-west coast of Ireland stretching from Glengarriff to Dursey Head. There is plenty to do and see in the Beara Peninsula, which is dotted with many lively, colourful villages including: Allihies, Ardgroom and Eyeries, each with their own unique history and natural beauty, Beara has many landmarks of historical interest; The Ogham Stone, the famous "Hag of Beara" in Eyeries, the old Army Base on Bere Island, to name but a few. Beara is also made famous from the numerous books written about the area and the Mini- Series "Falling for a Dancer" , was based and filmed on the Beara Peninsula. Our holiday cottages comprise of 2 bedrooms with fitted wardrobes, a fitted kitchen with hob, microwave, fridge, crockery & cutlery. Large living area with remote control colour TV. All linen and towels are also provided. Patio doors lead from living room to lawn area.
